Original Postman Pat artwork by the artist, Joan Hickson, who originally transformed John Cunliffe's TV character into a drawn character for the BBC children's comic, Buttons, and went on to illustrate the beloved children's books. Illustrated in ink, gouache and watercolour on paper which is mounted and matted. Depicted in the three illustrations are Postman Pat and his van, Jess the Cat, and Dorothy Thompson. Pat is wearing a grey uniform which I've not seen before so maybe this is an early prototype for the Buttons comic strip of the 1980s? The artwork is in very good condition, clean and bright with just a few minor marks, and some light wear to the side margins. The matboard is clean and bright. Overall, much nicer condition than these are usually found in. This is a lovely piece of Postman Pat memorabilia, mounted and matted ready for framing. The matboard measures 50 x 40 cms; the artwork, 38 x 32 cms. All orders professionally packed, tracked and/or signed for, and insured. Seller Inventory # 006030
