The image size is ca. 11.8 x 15.6 inch.Anatomy print, number 85 (volume IV) , titled: Vaisseaux et Ganglions Lymphatiques de l'Aisselle (Lymphatic vessels, ganglion and veins in the armpit, arm and thorax). The corresponding sheet with legend/key included. This attractive original old antique print / plate originates from: 'Traite complet de l'anatomie de l'homme, comprenant la medicine operatoire.', by Jean Marc Bourgery, published in Paris by C.A. Delaunay, 1831-54. The detailed illustrations of anatomy and surgery in this work are considered unsurpassed! Each plate comes with the corresponding print index.Artists and Engravers: Author: Jean Baptiste Marc Bourgery (1797-1849). The artist who directed the massive program of prosection, and who was responsible for 512 of the spectacular illustrations, was Nicholas-Henri Jacob (1782-1871) a student of the neo-classical painter of the French Revolution, Jacques-Louis David.Condition: Good, given age. Small closed tear in the bottom margin. The sheet discoloured and with scattered foxing/stains. In 2018 he decided to further develop his personal collection through 'Pictura Prints'. Peter has a background in design and landscape architecture and holds a degree in paper restauration. He holds shop in Overasselt, a small town on the Maas river near Nijmegen, The Netherlands, which can be visited by appointment. He is a member of the Dutch Association of Antiquarians (NVVA) and the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB).

We ship worldwide and package our items meticulously. We carry an umbrella insurance policy. Our shipment rates are based on shipments up to 1 kg. For heavier shipments we will contact you with a quote. Currently our surcharge for international shipments over 1 kg is 9,14 euro / kg. In addition POST NL temporarly charges 3,60 euro per kg due to CORONA related logistics. We ship by registered mail through POST NL. Expedited shipping or shipment through another carrier is available on request at a possible surcharge.
