Approx 3.2 x 2.3 inches to plate edge and approx 6.75 x 5 inches with full measurement of the card, Mounted on original "G. Baxter stamped card "Inventor and Patentee" in magenta/red lower left, card grubby/dusty. Scarce Subject. *Edward looks about 7-9 and he was born in 1841. He is depicted as a sailor and looks to be playing up with his sailor guardian. Wiki source: " Despite his technical excellence and the general popularity of his prints, Baxter's business was never profitable ? his process was laborious and it seems likely that his perfectionism prevented him from completing many of his commissioned works on time". He was made bankrupt in 1865. Died in 1867. Seller Inventory # A491

Also maps and Ephemera - in fact, anything interesting on paper really. We have in stock every item we list. We do not use stock photographs, but photograph each item individually. We very rarely use "fine" or "mint" as a description, mainly due to the age and the fact that 99.9% of what we sell has been pre-owned and therefor Fine would not be a term for a book we sell despite its fine-like appearance. We always take items back unreservedly if not in the condition as described. We always try to describe fully.
