Altkolorierter Kupferstich aus dem zweisprachigen Werk: Bilderbuch für Kinder (franz.: Portefeuille des Enfans) von Friedrich Johann Justin Bertuch (1747-1822), erschienen in 12 Bänden in Weimar zwischen 1792 und 1830. Die vorliegende Tafel erschien als No. 45. des 2. Bandes des Werkes. Da das Gesamtwerk inkl. der Illustrationen sowohl in Erscheinungsreihenfolge als auch nach Sachgebieten angeordnet werden konnte, trägt die Tafel zugleich die Nummer XXXV der Rubrik: Pflanzen. - Wir haben einige hundert Tafeln des Werkes vorrätig, sie sind sämtliche generell in sehr gutem Zustand. Dennoch können hin und wieder etwas Textabklatsch oder Bräunungen vorkommen - wo dies der Fall ist, sollte es in der Regel auf den Abbildungen, die wir zu allen Tafeln bereitstellen, erkennbar sein. Die oft sehr aufschlußreichen Tafelbeschreibungen (jeweils auf Deutsch und Französisch) werden im gedruckten Orginal mitgeliefert. Erste Ausgabe. - "Das "Bilderbuch für Kinder" wurde zwischen 1790 und 1830 in einer Auflage von 3000 Stück herausgegeben, es enthält insgesamt 1185 kolorierte Bildtafeln mit rund 6000 einzelnen Kupferstichen. Künstlerische Mitarbeiter für die zahlreichen Abbildungen fand Bertuch in der Fürstlichen freien Zeichenschule, an deren Gründung, im Jahr 1776 in Weimar, er selbst beteiligt gewesen war." Since the entire collection of illustrations published could also be sorted by subjects the plate also bears the additional number XXXV of the section: Plants (including algae, mosses and mushrooms). - We offer some hundred plates from this work which usually are in very good to fine condition, however in some cases text offsetting or foxing applies and if that's the case it should easily be visible from the image we provide for each plate. Our offers include the corresponding original printed text pages bearing the description of the plate - please have in mind though that the description is held in German and French only.
