ARENGA SACCHARIFERA, derived from the Javanese term for sugar palm, features an etymology tracing back to Sanskrit, meaning sugar, reflecting its Latin and Greek nomenclature. JUBAEA SPECTABILIS, or the Chilean Wine Palm, offers botanical splendor, while CHAMAEDOREA ELATIOR, also known as Climbing Chamaedorea, adds to the palm diversity. CHAMAEROPS HUMILIS, the European Fan Palm, thrives in the Mediterranean, while OENOCARPUS DISTICHUS yields the bacaba wine palm. CORYPHA UMBRACULIFERA, the Talipot palm, flourishes in southern India and Sri Lanka. MAURITIA VINIFERA, found in Brazil, and BORASSUS FLABELLIFORMIS, native to the Indian Ocean, exhibit varied uses. OREODOXA REGIA, the Royal palm, and LODOICEA SECHELLARUM, the Sea cocoa, contribute to the palm diversity with their distinctive features and geographical distributions.
