BANKSY - Unique & Numbered & Handmade WELCOME MAT - 2019 - Rare Collectible Artwork *** This rare and highly sought-after Banksy artwork, titled "Welcome Mat", was released in 2019 as part of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), Banksys official homeware store. Crafted from upcycled life vests discarded on the beaches of the Mediterranean, the work delivers a powerful political message about the refugee crisis, blending Banksy's signature wit with profound social commentary *** Limited edition, run through Gross Domestic Product, each piece with attached GDP official label. Each mat is uniqueand handmade! Size mat : 44 x 63 cm. *** To fabricate the mats Banksy has teamed up with the organisation 'Love Welcomes' who work with women in detainment camps in Greece. The word "Welcome" is spelled using hand-stitched strips of orange life jackets, a stark reference to the perilous journeys undertaken by migrants seeking safety. The mat itself is made from coir fiber, symbolizing both hospitality and the harsh reality many refugees face. Each piece was hand-assembled by displaced women in refugee camps, with proceeds supporting their communities *** Banksy is one of the most influential and controversial street artists of our time. Known for his politically charged stencil graffiti, the British artist has challenged global issues, from consumerism to war, surveillance, and social injustice. His anonymous identity adds to the allure of his works, which have commanded record-breaking auction prices worldwide * Banksy's works continue to rise in value, with major collectors and museums securing pieces for their collections. Artworks from Gross Domestic Product, especially those with such strong political messaging, are particularly desirable. The "Welcome Mat" is not just a statement piece it's an investment in one of the most important contemporary artists of our generation ***** SHIPPING: Worldwide shipping available ***** CONDITION: in very good condition *****.…
