Blatt-Maße: ca. 37 x 22 cm. -- A very rare, early example of nature printing. From Kniphof's "Botanica in originali seu herbarium". -- with some imprint, otherwise in good condition. || Ein sehr seltener und früher Naturselbstdruck aus dem 18. Jahrhundert. -- mit Abklatsch, sonst gut erhalten. || Der Naturselbstdruck ist ein Druckverfahren, bei dem Naturobjekte, z. B. Blätter von Pflanzen, als Druckformen eingesetzt werden. Bei dünnem Farbauftrag werden selbst feine Strukturen sehr präzise wiedergegeben. Es können auch vollständige gepresste Pflanzen, Vogelfedern, Insektenflügel, flache Fossilien usw. verwendet werden. Der Naturselbstdruck wurde neben der dekorativen oder künstlerischen Anwendung vor allem in der Botanik weiterentwickelt, da er detailgetreue Abbildungen von Blütenpflanzen, Farnen und Algen erlaubt. || Nature-printing is a printing process in which natural objects, e.g. leaves of plants can be used as printing forms.
