Set of seven, copper-engraved plates from Encyclop�die, ou dictionnaire raisonn� des sciences, des arts et des m�tiers, par une soci�t� de gens de lettres. Subject matter depicts hand crafting of fireworks and details of contemporary display fireworks. Rockets, vertical and horizontal wheels feature prominently. Publication date is ca. 1772. Image area of each print approximately 8.24 x 13.5 inches. Paper is high quality rag, typical of the period -- no embrittlement, very suitable for framing. Images depict five of the seven plates.
