Antique print, titled: 'Igne greges Jobo natos perijse ruina [.].' - Job receiving bad news. This edition was printed around 1700, based on the watermark by the Publisher Nicolaes Visscher II (1649-1702). The set is usually published as "Groote Figuer-bijbel"or "Theatrum Biblicum". The Visscher family published these already antique plates from 1649 on. State: Second state of 2 Ref: Mielke 32 Theatrum Biblicum. Engraving on Laid paper. Watermark: Coat of arms of Amsterdam with a lower beam. Made by an anonymous engraver after 'Jan Snellinck'. Jan Snellinck (1548-1638) was a Flemish painter and art collector. Very good, given age. Large margins. Some foxing. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully. The overall size is ca. 37.8 x 31.5 cm.
