This plate shows the Geological layers, the structure of the section of Nord-America, the section of Harz und and the Thuringer Forest in Germany and areas like Arthur's Seat and the carbon pool in Edinburgh in Scorland, in the United Kingdom . This attractive original old antique print / plate originates from a famous German encyclopedia: 'Meyers grosses Konversations-Lexikon.' ca. 1900 edition, published in Leipzig and Vienna. Meyers Konversations-Lexikon was a major German encyclopedia that existed in various editions from 1839 until 1984, when it merged with the Brockhaus encyclopedia.Artists and Engravers: The original founder and publisher who initiated this famous enxyclopedia was Joseph Meyer (1796-1856, Hildburghausen, Germany).Condition: Very good. Original folds, as issued. General age-related toning and occasional light stains from handling. In 2018 he decided to further develop his personal collection through 'Pictura Prints'. Peter has a background in design and landscape architecture and holds a degree in paper restauration. He holds shop in Overasselt, a small town on the Maas river near Nijmegen, The Netherlands, which can be visited by appointment. He is a member of the Dutch Association of Antiquarians (NVVA) and the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB).
