It shows: Imposts and Archivolts from the Doric, Ionic, Corinthian and Composite orders. Original etching/engraving on a vellin type handlaid paper. Description: This print originates from Jacopo Barozzi da Vignola's 'Le Nouveau Vignole ou Regles des Cinq Ordres d'Architecture' (Paris: Chereau, 1755). This work was originally published in 1562.Artists and Engravers: According to the title page, the engravings in this edition were designed and engraved by Babel. Pierre-Edme Babel (1720-1775) was a French engraver. He designed pieces for the Palace of Versailles. Condition: Very good, given age. Top margin faintly browned, sheet a little discoloured. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully. Storage location: C267-28 The overall size is ca. 7.1 x 9.4 inch.
