Antique print, titled: 'The Smithy. Epplein von Gailingen.' - An older man looks on as two men shoe a horse and a third man holds a falcon aloft. Steel engraving w/ hand colouring Description: Source unknown, to be determined. Artists and Engravers: Made by 'A.H. Payne' after 'G. Perlberg'. Albert Henry Payne (London 1812 - Leipzig 1902) was a steel engraver, painter and illustrator. Although he was English, he lived in Leipzig from 1839. Condition: Very good, given age. Print has been in matting, some discolouration on the image. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully. Storage location: C237-03 The overall size is ca. 7.9 x 10.4 inch. The image size is ca. 6.5 x 8.6 inch. The overall size is ca. 20 x 26.4 cm. The image size is ca. 16.5 x 21.8 cm.
