Antique Master Print, untitled. Grenadier with an axe on his shoulder. Lithograph on wove paper. Description: Source unknown, to be determined. State: Only state. Ref: Le Combe 115.Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Nicolas-Toussaint Charlet' after own design. Nicolas-Toussaint Charlet (1792-1842) was a supporter of Napoleon Bonaparte. He choose his subjectmatter based on this preference. Many prints of soldiers were made by him in the new medium of lithography. Lasteyrie is considered to be amongst the first publishers of lithography. Condition: Very good, given age. Uncut example. In matting.
