Antique Master Print, untitled. An old man with a large coat, basket and stick. Very good early impression. This and Guiffrey 22 and 29 appear to be etched on the same plate and to be separated. State: First state of 2 Ref: Guiffrey 31 Figure. Etching on Wove paper. Made by 'Charles Emile Jacque' after own design. Charles-Emile Jacque (1813-1894) was a very well respected French painter, sculptor and engraver / etcher of mostly landscapes and animals from Paris. He was trained as cartographic engraver. Later he developed a very free style in etching. He is considered one of the more interesting 19th. c. French artists. Very good, given age. No margins. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully. The overall size is ca. 4 x 5.9 cm. The image size is ca. 4 x 5.9 cm.
