CONDITION: Folded in the middle with 2 single page map charts on the back. The antique map of New York State, from the late 19th century, highlights the different counties in New York, each shaded in a different color for easy distinction; for example, counties like Erie, Niagara, Monroe, and Albany are visible. Major water bodies featured include Lake Ontario at the top, which forms a natural border between New York and Canada, Lake Erie in the western part of the state with Buffalo marked along its shores, and parts of the Hudson River visible in the southeastern portion of the map, near New York City. The map also shows borders with neighboring regions, including Canada to the north and Pennsylvania to the south, as well as New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Vermont labeled along the borders. Prominent cities such as New York City, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, and Albany (the state capital) are depicted, along with Long Island shown in the lower portion of the map. Additionally, routes likely representing railroads crisscross the state, indicated by lines running across various parts of the map, which serves both geographical and political purposes by showing boundaries, waterways, and key towns.NOTE THE FOLLOWING BEFORE YOU PURCHASE: This is a GENUINE ANTIQUE VINTAGE MAP. It is NOT a modern reproduction, ie. a laser scan, photocopy, etc. It is the original from the antique or vintage atlas or book publication. This map was published on the date mentioned, or circa the date mentioned at the top of the page. The map I have for sale, like many antique vintage prints and maps that you see online, originate from an antique vintage book or atlas publication. The publication may not always be known. If you have any questions, emails are welcome. Shipped Unmatted.
