Ancient Forum in Rome ,Circus Maximus,1894 Antique Colour Map HISTORICAL MAP CHART SHOWING LOCAL TOPOGRAPHY ,Map of ancient rome. 1890s Wood Engraving, Antique City Plan>The Ancient Forum in Rome and the Circus Maximus are two of the most iconic and historically significant sites in the city. The Ancient Forum was the center of political, commercial, and religious life in ancient Rome, and it is home to many well-preserved ruins, including temples, basilicas, and triumphal arches. The Circus Maximus, on the other hand, was the largest stadium in ancient Rome and was used for chariot races, gladiatorial contests, and other public events. The Ancient Forum was the heart of the Roman Empire, and it was here that many of the most important decisions in Roman history were made. The ruins of the Forum include the Temple of Saturn, the Arch of Titus, the Basilica of Maxentius, and the Rostra, among many others. Visitors to the Forum can walk among the ancient ruins and get a sense of what life was like in ancient Rome. The Circus Maximus, located just a short distance from the Forum, was the largest stadium in ancient Rome and could accommodate up to 250,000 spectators. It was used for a variety of public events, including chariot races, which were incredibly popular in ancient Rome. The stadium was also the site of many important political and religious ceremonies.
