Впервые дневники были выпущены в свет в Мадриде в 1950 году издательством Editorial NOS. Основателем издательства был Маурисио Карлавилья, испанский писатель, известный своими непримиримыми антикоммунистическими и антимасонскими взглядами. Как явствует из послесловия, он получил рукописи Ландовского из рук испанского добровольца, принимавшего участие в боях на Ленинградском фронте, по-видимому, в составе Голубой дивизии.
