[Zoology] RARE, a New Edition with Additions. Octavo (17 x 11cm), pp.vi; 346 [2]. With an in-text wood engraving of each animal by Whimper. Publisher's green cloth with gilt titles to spine, a gilt bison stamped to upper, and blind decoration to boards. Black ink gift inscription to verso of flyleaf, dated 1859. Quite well thumbed, with a touch of spotting and a few small tears. Moderate wear to cloth, with some fraying to head and tail of spine. Very good. First published in 1844, with just a handful of copies of any edition in UK libraries. Seller Inventory # 61171
