This updated and expanded edition of the original 2002 translation of the writings of Dr. Pang Ming on The Body and Mind Method by master teacher and author Hou Hee Chan is an exciting revision of the earlier book. It incorporates teachings that were only available in the lectures of Dr. Pang Ming into the three chapters of the present book. This edition also contains the author’s extensive interpretations of the teachings of Dr. Pang Ming based on his years of study of the collected works of Dr. Pang Ming and as a respected teacher of Qigong both in America and abroad. This is the second book in the author’s series translating and interpreting the writings of Dr. Pang Ming. The Series Preface states that the Body and Mind Method book represents “the Second Step Gong (intermediate level) which works on the integration of the physical body and mental activities.” Although this book is on a second or intermediate level, it is a valuable reference work on its own since Chapter One contains an excellent Introduction to Qigong and How to Practice Qigong, Chapter Two is a thorough Introduction to Zhineng Qigong practice, and Chapter Three explores the Body and Mind Method and Tap Along the Meridians in depth. The author has added new illustrations to this edition and effectively illuminated and clarified what are some of the more complex theoretical ideas in this practice. He has skillfully integrated the theory with the practice methods, allowing us to consider how Qigong awareness leads to the “evolution of an advanced qi function.” It is a comprehensive written guide for a reader and student new to this practice as well as a continuing source of profound inspiration for dedicated students in the living art of Qigong.
