Final words adhere to something borderline and legacy, they claim dignity and at the same time carry a high risk: will the last words of the defendant in court succeed in obtaining a favorable verdict? Will the words of seer Kassandra be heard? What image of science is drawn in praise of deceased academics? To finally end in the one question: does death really have the last word? The booklet collects cultural and literary science, legal historical and theological answers to it.
In the "Archive" section, political and cultural scientist David Kettler examines "first letters" of exiles with which they link to old contacts with people who were left behind in Germany.
