Item description from seller

Good Condition. Wear and tear on cover, otherwise excellent, no damages. Please see photos for visual details. Published in 1983 by the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, Yves Tanguy: A Retrospective examines the life and work of Yves Tanguy (1900–1955), a major figure in Surrealism. Known for his dreamlike landscapes, mysterious organic forms, and vast, otherworldly spaces, Tanguy developed a distinctive visual language that became an important part of twentieth-century modern art. Tanguy's paintings often depict imaginary environments populated by strange, biomorphic shapes that seem to float across barren landscapes. His meticulous technique and unusual compositions create an atmosphere of ambiguity, inviting viewers into a world shaped by the unconscious, imagination, and Surrealist experimentation. His work offers a fascinating perspective on the movement's rejection of conventional representation and its interest in dreams and psychological associations. Limited print of 4500 copies.
