Staplebound softcover, approximately 11 1/2 x 16 inches, pp 489-536, illustrated with black and white drawings. Good+. Age yellowed, some foxing and tanning on covers, an approximately 1x2x2 inch piece torn off upper inside corner of rear cover, rubbed along edges with several approximately 1/8th to 1/2 inch nicks, 4 inch tear on side edge of 1 leaf, otherwise tight, clean, relatively crisp and unmarked. The so called "premium issue", containing 37 well illustrated pages of prizes given for bringing in new subscriptions. A veritable emporium of the products of early 20th century American industry, including jewelry, wrought iron art work, magic lantern, a Columbia graphophone (phonograph) , watches, books, clocks, musical instruments (including a curious melophone) , etc. Children's; magazine; newspaper; periodical; Americana; popular culture; ephemera.

Nestled in a valley in the Endless Mountains, where the temperature can dip below freezing even in mid-June, sits Frost Pocket Farm. While our harvest of organic produce may be subject to the whims of nature, the crop of books is always a good one. The selection is as varied as the interests of its proprietor. A native of NYC, who dissipated his youth and more mature years in used bookstores and reading, as well as earning degrees in history, biology, banking and counseling plus studying 2 years at the University of Paris, he is constantly acquiring quaint and curious volumes, as well as the more mundane, on every imaginable subject. Low overhead means low prices geared towards the trade and the savvy retail client. To the extent possible, we use recycled packaging material (economy and ecology are both dervied from the same Greek root), and all books are shipped in corrugated cardboard. Every attempt is made to accurately describe the books, including their faults, and everything is completely guaranteed! (Sorry, we are strictly mail order, and due to insurance and other concerns cannot accomodate visitors.) On-line booksellers since 1996; ancient for this business!…
