The materialistic paradigm that we're giving our lives, our energy, our time to ... does it really deserve it? Does it in fact reward us with happiness, fulfillment, peace and harmonious relations with others and our planet in general?
Our desires are endless, and our actions in pursuit of their fulfillment are unsustainable, along with their consequences, such as stress, conflict, internal and external toxicity. Some even wonder about the survival of our species, or whether the whole world has begun to experience a meltdown in the general fabric of society, and a concomitant collapse in relation to the familiar comforts and securities it affords.
Perhaps it's time to take serious stock of the direction we’re headed in, which demands that we first take a critical new look at the underlying beliefs that are steering us. After all, the reason we see for our future is a natural extension of the reason we see for our past – i.e. our belief about how we got here.
This book, "Are We There Yet ... And How Did We Get Here Anyway?" has been written to inform and uplift our perspectives on life, its conscious evolution and purpose.
As one reviewer wrote, it is "a bold and captivating book that critically explores not only where our beliefs are leading us, but how they are instilled in us - so that we hold them, albeit unconsciously, in a most dogmatic fashion. It is a book that, with tremendous clarity and charm, reveals the essential value of rational skepticism, particularly with regard to the theory of evolution … Through wise and poignant analogies, Lyons again and again eloquently disarms some of our most sacred doctrines. Yet his open and unhostile voice welcomes readers of all backgrounds, and the curious reader who bares an open mind is rewarded on every page.”
"Are We There Yet ...And How Did We Get Here Anyway" questions the practical personal and social ramifications of today's most widely accepted belief regarding our origins, while providing an objective appraisal both of where we are, and where we are likely headed. And it is free from the tired motive of hoping to establish some brand of sectarian or dogmatic religion by default. The purpose of this book is to reinvigorate the paths of both philosophical and scientific enquiry, and thus rejuvenate the general direction society is taking. Above all, this book holds a promise of empowering you, the reader, in regards to your own life and your own future.
Written in an easy and non-technical style with many analogies and examples from nature, the subjects under consideration become readily accessible and clear. It will extend to you both an opportunity and an invitation to think critically for yourself, unburdened by either secular or religious dogmas; thus also opening up whole new possibilities for understanding yourself and what you can actually achieve in life.
