The Yellowest Yellow Lab. This item is unavailable. The Yellowest Yellow Lab

Written and illustrated by a trio of bona fide dog lovers, The Yellowest Yellow Lab is, in essence, a love letter to man’s—or in this case woman’s—best friend. Dedicated to the creative team’s faithful companions, the playful, rhyming story was also inspired by the authors’ yellow pups, which, though grand in stature, cower at things like bath time, the sound of the vacuum cleaner, the sight of a mouse, the boom of fireworks or the crack of lightning. In addition, the story speaks to the enduring strength of friendship and how the very presence of our family and friends is a comfort to us. Also, the idea that appearances can be deceiving is an important lesson that is touched upon. The authors’ love of language transcends the pages of The Yellowest Yellow Lab, which is immediately evident from the title and the way it plays on different meanings of the same word, as well as its sing-songy rhyming structure. It was created as a short read, so that it holds young children’s attention.Decedue’s illustrations, created using markers and paper textures, are colorful and friendly and were chosen to appeal to the younger audience for whom the title was targeted. The book’s smaller size and eye-catching design make The Yellowest Yellow Lab approachable, and the personality with which the lead dog is rendered makes it a decided hit for young pet lovers. Most of all, the illustrations are great fun and are laced with a sense of humor that both children and their parents can appreciate.
