Item description from seller

62, [2]pp., 12mo. Folding engraved frontispiece, and two other plates dated Decr. 27th 1814, with a terminal page of publisher s advertisements. Original printed stiff buff wrappers, upper cover with title and date 1816, lower cover with a list of "improved juvenile books"; a little wear around the edges of the wrappers, but a nice copy. Second edition, not so stated; the first was 1814, an engaging story told to the author s children, who afterwards "begged that it might be written out, (as they termed it)." This was Pedder s only Darton publication; within a few years of this edition he emigrated to the United States. The Dartons H1202(2).
