This is James Thurber turned part biographer and part humerist. It tells of the tenure of Harold Ross , the editor of the New Yorker from its foundation in 1925 until his death in 1951. It is said that so many crazy talents were connected with the New Yorker in its early days that its office had a touch of the loony bin about it.This is a first hand report of those turbulent days written with affection and attention to detail as well as being a fascinating and important history of humour. This hardback has its original uncut dust wrapper and is in good condition illustrated with many line drawings by Thurber himself. This is the first UK edition.
