Print on Demand. This book follows the trajectory of the Au Sable Forest Products Association and its influence on a small rural community and its surrounding forestry industry from 1940 to 1963. It details the gradual decline of the agricultural industry and the subsequent increase in alternative revenue streams from forestry for the local population. On a broader scale, the text serves as an incisive case study of a timber marketing association acting as a catalyst for positive rural change. The author, an expert in the field, provides a rigorous analysis of the factors that led to the association's success, from its origins in serving the economic needs of its members to its efficient organizational structure. An insightful examination of the cooperative's role in improving the community, promoting sustainable forestry practices, and the economic impact it has had on the local population, this book offers valuable insights into how cooperatives can become an integral part of rural development and economic prosperity. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…
