Told through a braided narrative, the book weaves together two timelines: the first follows Beau and Melanie’s one-year relationship, marked by a history of missed chances that never quite aligned, deep longing, adventure, and emotional breakthroughs, followed by a rapid unraveling as Melanie retreats from her truth. The second traces the first two months of Beau’s recovery after her sudden suicide, including the signs and synchronicities that began to appear in her absence.

As the story unfolds, readers are drawn into the beauty and emotional turmoil of a relationship shaped by spiritual connection, unhealed trauma, and the desperate search for meaning. Melanie was a breathwork healer recovering from abuse and addiction. Beau was a writer and entrepreneur quietly battling a sports gambling addiction. Together, they built a world of deep emotional intimacy—only to find themselves slowly drifting apart as the weight of the past pulled them under.

After Melanie’s death, a new chapter begins—not just in grief, but in the mysterious ways she begins to communicate from beyond. Through signs, synchronicities, music, and the meditative breathwork practice she once taught him, Beau begins to piece together the story she couldn’t share in life.

This is not a book about moving on. It’s about moving through grief, doubt, heartbreak, and healing, while uncovering the role karmic ties play in shaping our lives. It’s about learning that love doesn’t die when the body does.

For anyone who’s ever loved someone they couldn’t save.
For anyone who’s searched for meaning after loss.
For anyone who believes—or hopes—that the soul lives on and our connections don’t end.

This book will speak to your soul.

One Year With My Soulmate is the first in the Sunflower Signals series: a story of grief, love, and spiritual transformation told with unflinching honesty and heart.
