About this Item
This VG- quality book was published in 1942 by the Grosset & Dunlap and is 7-5/8" tall with 216 numbered pages of text followed by 2 unnumbered pages of ads. This book--one-piece dark green binding with black lettering and illustration--is square, rather clean, free of corner bumps and edge dings but with noticeable wear on all four corners; the head and heel of the spine are lightly bumped, with some wear and color loss. The bottom edges have a moderate amount of wear. The interior is completely free of writing, stray marks, stains of any sort and page damage of any type. Both hinges are strong and undamaged. The text paper is modestly and uniformly toned but is still flexible and not brittle--the title page has the standard wartime paper conservation message. The only illustration, the frontis, is on plain paper and is present and intact. The series list at the back of the book and the list on the rear panel of the jacket list through title #11 of this series, published in 1943. The book has no remainder mark and is not a former library book. The VG- quality jacket is clean and not faded, with small chips at the front corners, wear along the front fold, as well as small chips, tears and tiny bits of wear and color loss at the head and heel of the spine. The very colorful front panel is reasonably intact. Seller Inventory # BMR-2020-8-7-2
