All this belongs to Christmas: art and kitsch, cookies and punch
The tinsel sparkles in the candlelight, from the kitchen it smells of baked apples and from the speakers "Last Christmas" sounds in a continuous loop: the Christmas season is characterised by traditions and recurring rituals. But where does the custom of putting decorated conifers in the living room come from? And is it true that Christmas is of pagan origin? This adult Christmas book illuminates the picture of Christmas through the centuries using over 200 artworks. The accompanying essays complement the knowledge of Christmas customs and treats from around the world.
