Haar and Daniel Wm. Fessler meticulously chronicle the complex history and profound impact of urban planning and housing law in America. The academic text scrutinizes how legal frameworks and policy decisions have historically perpetuated segregation and inequality, particularly in the context of transportation infrastructure. It presents a compelling argument for re-evaluating the ethical and social responsibilities inherent in land use and development, offering a critical examination of the forces that shape metropolitan landscapes and the lives within them. This essential reading illuminates the enduring challenges of achieving equitable urban environments.
