From the Publisher
The collision on 15 April 1912 of the mighty ocean liner Titanic with an iceberg in the Atlantic is the greatest ocean catastrophe of all time. Of the 2,340 passengers aboard, 1,595 plunged to their untimely death.
Published in 1912 in the immediate aftermath of the tragedy, 'The Story of the Titanic' provides a graphic account of the Titanic's story, with facts about the ship, the passengers and the voyage, first-hand accounts of the survivors' thrilling escapes from death and details of the wreck and the official investigations. Illustrated throughout with photographs and drawings produced especially for the book.
