Add to basketKendra Adams is adjusting to college life when she takes an interest in Josiah James. After hearing he is newly single, her roommate, Jaime, encourages her to pursue a relationship with him. However, she fears her ex, Marco, whom she suspects of stalking her when disturbing incidents occur.
Despite her fears, Kendra finds herself drawn deeper into Josiah's unwavering kindness, which makes her feel safer even as Marco's shadow looms. She becomes more cautious, taking comfort in her roommate's support and growing friendship with Josiah, yet she stays on edge. As the tension around her intensifies, Kendra must decide whether to let her fear control her or take a chance on happiness with Josiah, all while the threat from her past refuses to let go.
Josiah James longs to build a future with Kendra, but his path is complicated by the persistent efforts of his ex-girlfriend, Peyton. Determined to rekindle their relationship, Peyton refuses to accept the end of their romance and is willing to go to great lengths to win Josiah back. Even if it's digging up whatever dirt she can find on Kendra, her presence casts a shadow over Josiah's budding connection with Kendra, challenging him and testing the strength of his feelings.
As their lives intertwine, both Kendra and Josiah find themselves confronting not only the ghosts of old relationships but the uncertainty of new beginnings. Trust must be built amid secrets and lingering doubts, and each day brings fresh challenges that test their courage.
Will Kendra and Josiah get to live happily ever after, or is someone willing to kill to keep them apart?
Part of The Depraved Series, The Wounded Heart is a fast-paced read with a twist you didn't see coming.
