About the Author
RANDY L. THURMAN started in the financial planning business in 1987, and has since become widely recognized as one of the top financial advisors in the United States. He specializes in helping those who have retired (or are about to retire) have a comfortable income for life. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER(TM) professional, also known as a CFP(R) professional. He is also a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS), a credential that recognizes CPAs with additional experience and expertise in financial planning. PFS candidates must pass a technical exam and complete rigorous continuing education requirements. Randy holds four degrees, including an MBA from Oklahoma State University, and has taught investing, personal finance, and economics at the college level. In 1990 Randy founded his firm, Financial Planning Company of Oklahoma, which in 1997 merged with Retirement Investment Advisors, Inc. He continues today as Chief Executive Officer.
