Sixth edition hard back binding in publisher's original slate blue cloth covers, gilt title and author lettering to the spine, black and white end paper world maps. Dumpy. 4¼'' x 5½''. A record of the fighting ships of all nations together with brief explanations of some of the many things that go to make up a modern navy. Contains (xix), 720 printed pages of text with colour plates and monochrome illustrations [some-folding] of ships emblems, flags, badges, pennants, naval ensigns and archive photographs throughout, ship silhouettes and over-head plans. Name to the top of the front free end paper. Very Good condition book in Good condition dust wrapper with rubbing to the edges and corners, spot marks to the rear cover.
