I am a commoner with ordinary education, born in village Tarlai Kalan on 1st August 1932. This is what my mother told me, with a long story of my admission in the school as I was very young and naughty and she wanted to confine me in the school. My father died when I was one year old with some kind of sudden death; something we now call a heart failure. His colleagues and old relatives called him a handsome man with very kind habits. They said, he fell victim of an evil eye which couldn't let him recover in spite of all the local herbal and anti-satanic cure. As the local traditions, all the elders arranged my mother's marriage to my uncle who brought me up, got me educated to his capacity. He was a very kind and progressive man, totally illiterate but madly fond of education. He tried his best to force me excel and become a known educationalist. After two years in college I revolted against continuing the education and wanted to join civil police merely to fight against the excesses by the strong towards the poor and the government functionaries protecting the strong with the law manipulations. The British rule in India was on its way back to England but their justice system had left some roots to protect the innocent against the oppressors. However, the decline was visibly surfacing because of the local traditions overtaking the just functions of the British Administration, generally admired by the civil society. Those seemingly accepted decline of the colonial systems were beginning to show the real result and create imbalance in the overall society. Since it all came under the civil police transitional performance, it attracted me to become part of the organization and save it from further decaying. My age and education was not compatible to join the police and by then the service was running into a bad reputation, I was forced by my uncle to do something better than that. In those very days I happened to come across a good Air Force Officer who persuaded me to join the Air Force for a pilot training as an Air Scout in 1952.
There was no school in my village beyond 4th grade; I along with some of the colleagues had to be admitted in a school which was three miles away from my village. Three miles going and the same distance coming back was an excellent exercise lasting four years. I passed my vernacular final in early 1947 and joined High School in Rawalpindi, a district city about 8 miles from my home. Initial four years from 1944 to 1947 were the most interesting period of my life where my colleagues were Hindus and Sikhs partners in my journey to middle school Kuri Shehar which now is part of new capital of Pakistan, Islamabad. The headmaster was a Hindu, Ram Wadaya Mal, so dedicated to his job that I have not seen such an honest devoted school teacher in my life. So was a Muslim Qazi Muhammad Aslam a Math teacher equally dedicated to his profession. This was a team which I thought could be a pride of any nation in the world. 1947 was the last year we saw each other and thereafter the destiny took them away from us and Pakistan, and I have till today not been able to trace their whereabouts in India. Only memories of those innocent years are left to sometimes feel sad and sometimes happy to recollect those delightful days we shared along with some complaints to our parents for our many mischief. I am sure they must be having the same brain seeking and telling their children all kind of stories of hide and seeks during 4 years of our journey together.
The same kind of people with the same traditions and culture were driven so far and under so stringent conditions that seeing each other has come to be one of the impossibilities of today. Partition might have been a natural course of history or destiny but losing living beings like these ones was catastrophic. So near and so far as to out of sight and out of mind would be such an unimaginable cruel phenomena.
Visa humiliating conditions between India and Pakistan and so many restrictions laid to travel have made us lose each other forever. We closed all avenues to embrace one another and bring back some, if not all, to old places and playing fields is one of gone stories for all times to come. All our dreams would remain floating in space and ultimately come to light when God Almighty would bring us all back together at the end of the world as promised. I wonder why we don't take a hint from that injunction of God to uncover this mystery in anticipation and get together as obedience to the Will of God. Like other explorations of nature's gifts and wonders are discovered and developed for the world in this point in time.
My Air Force life started in 1952 after I had passed my intermediate education at Gordon College Rawalpindi, some of the students joined as Air Scouts in a new flying training units established on emergency basis at prominent Air Bases as University Air Squadrons to makeup the shortage of the pilots in the Air Force. After 2-1/2 years at the Air Force Academy I was commissioned as a Pilot Officer (2nd Lieutenant) in the Air Force. Unfortunately I could not survive at the fighter conversion in the first batch of T-33 Jets introduced in the Air Force. Some of us were quick casualties in flying and were immediately flown to the United States to get training as Air Defense Weapons Controllers and return to Pakistan to establish an Air Defense System in Pakistan Air Force; an uphill task but very interesting. A course in the US gave me an outstanding outlook early in life outside the country. This was my first interaction with foreigners, American hosts, and other trainees from Denmark, Turkey, Iran, Philippines, Dominican Republic, and a few others, which indeed made me think about oneness among so many nationalities living together without any inhibitions of customs, culture, and other habits common and likeable to each other.
A vivid idea of oneness often passed over me even after the two wars with India. In spite of all the differences I would prefer to be in touch with each other at will without any restrictions from either of the countries. I developed an inside instinct of a "World with no Visa" and decided to one day write a book. However, unfortunately the world started becoming difficult day after day and visa restrictions more and more stringent to visit different countries. It was indeed unnecessary to keep people away and making them more strangers for one another. These aberrational behaviors took us far away from each other and besides world wars we had to face wars like Indo Pak wars, Arab Israel, 911 episodes, Iran Iraq war, US Iraq and Afghanistan wars and God knows how much it would spread if no remedial action is taken to reduce the tensions. The fire of hatred might spread so violently and fast that it would be difficult task to extinguish it all together. We have to make an effort to reduce its piousness effects from one corner of the earth to the other. It is high time the scientists and the holly men thought of the solutions of the clues God gave in his eternal books of oneness of entire living beings in the next world. The moral of the injunction is why can't we live in harmony in this earth now and enjoy the fruits of the nature's blessings.
Visa Endorsement
The official definition of the visa is, endorsement on the passport indicating that the holder is allowed to enter/leave, stay for a specific period in the country issuing it. In other words it was prohibited for an individual to cross over his own country into the other without any specific permission to do so. This means that the talent hidden in one part of the world remains confined to their own country and if there are no facilities available to develop in their own country, the talent dies down at the end without benefitting people of his/her skills for his area. The developed world may also automatically suffer due to visa inaccessibility of the talent available in the poor world. Although practically we have noticed that the developed countries make use of their talents and skill for their own country and in actuality the real natural geniuses elsewhere are not exploited for the benefit of humanity at large. It so happens that the major element of nature's wealth is not allowed to flourish and the world is deprived of the real advancement due to blessings of the nature. May be I am not able to express my inside passion and ability to research, and analyze the statistics available but I am sure one day somebody with real pain for humanity will collect such data and air it in space for the gone souls to try to spread it to the living beings to enjoy the benefits which they could not take advantage during their lifetimes.
Some talents are misdirected and utilized by powerful to produce destructive elements to force their command over the weak and feel proud. Indeed it is not desirable. Their frustration and impatience to grab pleasure quickly and not wait for their legitimate turn, brings destruction and not pleasure. Hitler, Roosevelt, Gorbachev, Bush, and Tony Blair are the modern names in the history for their misdeeds to the society. For some it was holocaust, for others using nuclear weapons, and a few for occupation of others small and weak countries on flimsy ground. This all could have been avoided if there was a free movement of those people and a free trade of goods from one place to the other. It might be an exaggerated statement but I am sure the quantum of destruction would be far lower than the people suffered under such regimes. Some were happy to acquire the status of super power for their countries irrespective of the destruction of their own people and kith and kin's. The victory was their goal but liability of crime would remain on their names for which they would be answerable to God Almighty on the Day of Judgment. That is of course my faith but leaving the faith aside they have to be answerable of their crimes to their conscience for the large scale destruction ordered or committed under their authority.
I am not aware of the enunciation process of the visa system, nor do I have enough research on its restrictive function. Somewhere during World War 1, some irregularities in terms of a few secrets disclosure brought success or failure of an operation which revealed that some spy work or leakage of an important message was made responsible for this. It so evolved that strangers from different lands could only make this possible. It was decided to scrutinize all unknown people for details of their presence in the area and purpose of visit in the conflict zones. Some presumably caught for such involvement; some were made to confess for the purpose of point scoring for the benefit of the reporting agencies. Some kind of system was introduced to keep a check on all aliens and their record available for search if required. Slowly and slowly the system developed to introduce a permanent type of record in the counties of conflict, named passport, which was to be possessed by anyone wishing to travel from one country to the other. This was to be mutually agreed by all countries wishing to introduce the passport for travelling to the other countries.
I am sure the educated people or the frequent travelers are aware of its origin but my book, as the name suggests, is for the common man everywhere who is financially weak to travel and meet his fellow human beings to know how this ill-fated system was introduced to restrict the people of one country or region to meet with the others to exchange views for the mutual benefit for each other. How Satanic and artificial systems in the past were made to work against nature's process of development for the welfare of the societies as a whole. This is how the HAVES and HAVES NOT were kept away from each other to work together, with the result the HAVES kept getting fatter and HAVES NOT weaker and weaker who ultimately resorted to use force for their survival or existence. Even that part was exploited by the HAVES to introduce weapons for them to fight to surpass those who were weaker than them. This was how the countries fell for the countries, nations for the other nations and people of one faith for the people of other faith. The game is unfortunately still in the hands of HAVES who keep playing to ensure their permanent victory everywhere in the world.
Nature's inborn instinct leads poor population to travel to those having excessive capital and opportunities but the ones having control on funds are not willing to share for the fear of depletion of resources. They are challenging the authority of nature that provided them these blessings. We cherish to relate the story or miracle of Jesus (Peace be upon Him), in the book of Mathews who, finding too many mouths and very little food asked his followers to cover the dish and start serving. The whole crowd ate and the dish was still full. The moral of the story was not that only Jesus could do it. It was a lesson from the messenger of God not to feel disillusioned and miserly. The ONE WHO CREATED us has also made provisions to let us live.
Nature's Compliments
Nature has her own ways of rotating things around the global axis. It presents distinctive favors to one part of the world and takes it away and transfers it to the other part at her own will. Those at the receiving end start boasting off as a matter of right and their own efforts to acquire them. Only those with eternal sense could perceive this as the act of blessing by the nature. Sometimes these acts of nature are beyond human reach and understandings which create controversies by a few selfish elements.
In 17th Century India was darling of the world and job seekers from all over Europe were filling ships to reach India and earn their livings with jobs, trade and other handy works and return home to feed their families. The people of India were pleased to receive them and establish those who were wanting to settle down and also those who temporarily worked and take home the bounty of their hard earned labor. There was no visa or permit from either of the governments for arrival and return. That is how the EAST INDIA Company found its way to work in India. No less person than the Emperor, Jahangir of India welcomed them and asked his people to extend all possible assistance to the new migrants to establish themselves in India. Within 50 years of their stay they reinforced themselves with the British government personnel including troops and started squeezing local government and taking over the country from different corners. Ultimately occupied the whole India with British Government troops and rulers of local small states and ruled India for over 100 years. In spite of all this the Indian national congress supported British kingdom with over one million troops who were one of the major contributors in winning the World War 1 for them. People to people contact were the main reason of the people's understanding and living in peace and harmony with one another in spite of the foreign rule in India. British ruled judiciously and established good systems probably as good as they did in England. After gaining independence in 1947 both India and Pakistan became members of commonwealth formed by most of the British Colonies. This was one of the big compliments to British rule and their good governance. There were no visa restrictions between the most of the commonwealth and people of each country interacted freely, with the result freedom of working, establishing trade and cultural relations was made possible. With passing of time and levying more restrictions people of these countries are falling apart and time might come when people change their status from friends and bothers to strangers and complete aliens.
A visa fee for five years between Pakistan and UK is almost Rs. 70,000 which is impossible for a common man to bear. The riches are corrupt and conniving who could never fill in the gap of commoners to establish selfless relationship between people. A time might come when one odd man happens to meet the other side individual in months and years. These restrictions would ultimately keep people away from each other to reap the benefits of talents and mutual developments. It would be virtually cutting off the entry of poor talent to both the countries. There is no doubt that with modern communications, world is almost becoming a global village but if you don't meet and sit together what kind of village you are creating where no one knows the other neighbor. This is no village; this is like an echo reaching from one end to the other end of the tunnel without seeing each other and without having the touch or the feel of the person at the other end of the tunnel. The result would be nothing but misunderstanding and confusion.
The other compliment of the nature was provision of oil and gas wealth to Middle East countries. Their lack of capacity to fully explore these natural resources, distribution of which to the other world necessitated assistance from the developed world. People from all over Europe and America rushed to Middle East in search of jobs and trading the oil. The flood of people from the so called rich and educated to poor and downtrodden society was like a miracle. The pity was that the government agencies and the rich businessmen involved in this process made about 10 times more money than if the ordinary and common people were involved. It though seems very difficult but if the private agencies instead of the government functionaries were involved they would have done a better job. Over and above the kickbacks frauds from both sides and more, could have been eliminated. The cost of oil would have gone down to 1/10th level to the common consumers and users.
The pretext of security and safety for keeping a check on the undesirable and illegal entry is baseless. The most undesirables and trouble creators are the ones from within the country of origin. The so called illegal ones are the most submissive and good people who come all the way from their countries to earn living for their dependents. They want to live peacefully and with goodwill so that they are not even noticeable by anyone for any misconduct lest they are held up for any type of accusations. They are the most desirable as tourists or workers in any countries. Going through my personal survey shows that the most peaceful are the illegal immigrants. It is not a good attribute to be illegal but the causes for these irregularities must be found out and remedial action taken by the people in authority.
