What did it take to crack a Nazi code, run a resistance cell, or work as a spy behind enemy lines?
World War II for Teens: Code Breakers, Resistance, & Spies takes you inside the hidden war — how resistance movements organized, how the Enigma code was broken, and how Allied spies operated deep in occupied territory — told through the real people, from teenage messengers to seasoned codebreakers, who lived it.
Travel back to 1940s Europe and uncover the methods, machines, and networks behind the conflict's most covert operations. From armed resistance fighters and nonviolent saboteurs to the codebreakers of Bletchley Park and the spies who risked everything behind enemy lines, this book explains how the fight against tyranny was really won in the shadows.
Inside World War 2 for Teens, you'll find:
- how Europe was thrown into turmoil in 1939 and the two alliances that formed as a result
- how armed and nonviolent resistance movements organized, from partisan fighters to strikes and sabotage
- how the German Enigma machine worked, and how Allied codebreakers cracked it—along with the unbreakable Navajo code
- the secretive world of WWII espionage: how spies were recruited, what tools they used, and the dangerous jobs they carried out
- real stories of the people behind it all, from teenage resistance fighters to professional codebreakers and spies
Packed with real-life stories and lesser-known facts, this book brings the hidden side of World War II to life. Whether you're a history buff or just beginning to explore this extraordinary world event, this book promises an unforgettable journey through the heart of World War II.
