About this Item
Very mild wear, clean and free of any writing. War Ration Book Two with ration stamps, some removed, accompanied by the return envelope to the War Price and Rationing Board-OPA Form No. R-191. Measures 4.75 X 6 inches folded. Five full sheets and two partial sheets of stamps remain. Persons inducted into service were required to return their ration books to a War Price and Rationing Board. This folded envelope opens up to include a ration book and a set of instructions and form printed inside the envelope. The form is to be completed if a book(s) is not being returned for some reason. Apparently, inductees received the envelope and were required to mail it back with or without any ration books. This envelope has not been used, nor has the form been completed. The ration book was not returned. While the ration books are not scarce, this particular document (envelope) from the Office of Price Administration (OPA), OPA Form No. R-191, is very scarce. We cannot locate another copy online for sale or in institutional archives. Seller Inventory # 10828
