Incomplete ex-library set, comprising Vols I, II, IV - VII, XVII - XIX. Quarter bound in contemporary brown leather, smooth spines in ruled compartments with blind-stamped ornamentation; titles and volume numbers direct to spine in gilt; top edges originally gilt, now darkened, other edges sprinkled red. Frontispiece portrait of Swift by J Burgess in Volume 1. Library inclusions to each volume as follows: library sticker to upper boards (all except vol II which has college name blocked in gilt), and label with shelf number to upper board and spine; armorial bookplate to front pastedown; barcode label to front pastedown; small circular ink stamp to title page; blank white label on rear pastedown. Upper boards of volumes 1 and 5 detached but present; bindings of other volumes a little loose but intact. Covers all rubbed, scratched or bumped to varying degrees. Spines and corners of Vols XVIII and XIX reinforced with adhesive plastic. Contents age-faded and some pages slightly cockled, but otherwise clean and readable. Sound and servicebale overall.
