Item description from seller

A smartly bound new edition of this collection of the works of English essayist Charles Lamb. New edition. The collected works of Charles Lamb, an English essayist, poet, and antiquarian, best known for his Essays of Elia and for the children's book Tales from Shakespeare, co-authored with his sister, Mary Lamb. This collection includes some of Lamb's most interesting letters, final memorials, Essays of Elia, Last Essays of Elia, poems, verses, and more. Collected and edited by Sir Thomas Noon Talfourd, an English judge, Radical politician, and author. Dated from the National Trust Libraries. Bound in full tan calf. Externally, smart with light rubbing to the extremities and the odd small mark to the boards. Light fading to the spine and board edges. Hinges starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot. Light age toning to the extremities with the previous owner's bookplate to the front pastedown. Very Good.
