This is the first illustrated version of Bret Harte's complete works in 25 volumes published by P. F. Collier & Son known as the "Argonaut" Edition. Illustrated by illustrators of the period although no specific artist is listed. Green cloth with gold gilt lettering on the spine and a "stamped in" pine tree on the front boards--see photograph. All 25 volumes are either in near-fine or fine condition--appearing unread--tight spines and clean unmarked interiors. Some front free endpapers have toning because of age and each book has a stamped named imprint of the original owner on the front pastedown--but mostly faded with age. Very scarce in this fine of condition--with every volume being like basically a brand new book. A must have for the Bret Harte collector--Each volume is copyrighted between 1897 to 1907--but 1907 is generally considered the copyright date for the "Argonaut Edition". Will be well packed and shipped in a box. Media mail ($5.50) total price within the United States only.…
