Stop planning for retirement. Start designing what’s next.
Most retirement books focus on hitting “your number” and sailing into the sunset. This one is different.
Written by husband-and-wife financial advisors Sarah K. Charles and Jim Charles, CFP®, CFA®, with more than sixty years of combined experience, this book tackles the questions that truly matter when work ends:
-
Who am I when I am no longer defined by my job title?
-
How do I spend money without guilt after decades of saving?
-
What gives my days meaning when meetings no longer fill my calendar?
-
How do I navigate Medicare, taxes, and estate planning without losing my mind?
This is not about retiring. It is about rewriting.
Through real client stories, including their own, the authors reveal why traditional retirement planning fails most people and offer a revolutionary approach that puts your life, not your portfolio, at the center.
Inside, you will discover:
-
Why the “4 percent rule” and other retirement myths could be sabotaging your future
-
The Three Tax Buckets strategy that gives you control over your retirement income
-
How to create a “retirement paycheck” that feels like real income rather than raiding savings
-
The hidden emotional challenges of leaving work and how to navigate them
-
Dynamic Income Planning with guardrails that adapt as your life evolves
-
Why most estate plans fail, especially after the SECURE Act, and how to fix yours
-
How to find purpose beyond the paycheck using the Financial Ikigai framework
Whether you are five years from stepping back or already struggling with the “now what” of retirement, this book offers the clarity, tools, and confidence to create a next chapter worth living.
No jargon. No judgment. No asset minimums required.
Just honest, actionable advice from advisors who believe everyone deserves a financial plan that honors their whole life, not just their balance sheet.
Perfect for anyone who wants more than endless golf and cruises and is ready to design a life they will not want to retire from.
