Now that’s where this book, Let the Word Speak, can help. By concentrating on and covering all the main points and events of the OT narrative, this book will allow the reader to do just that.
Most of us look at the OT largely as a collection of writings gathered together over disparate time and place. This is not so; what is not understood is that the OT is highly structured, both in its layout of scriptures and the events thereof which follow from the fall and Exile of Adam to the choosing of Abraham by
G-d and the establishment of the people of Israel in the Promised Land and then their Exile again to Babylon. Even though the Israelites do return from Exile (in the last historical accounts of the OT) something is still missing as they wait for the arrival of the messiah.
Clearly the OT has other amazing books seemingly outside this storyline but as we will find they too are linked in. For instance, the Books of the Prophets, with each of the prophets being sent to the kings who ruled Israel and Judah in their time. The book of Psalms associated with David and the books of Proverbs, Song of Songs and Ecclesiastes associated with Solomon’s wisdom.
This book is a brief walk through commentary of the entire OT giving precedence to its central core themes and their comprehension. Read on and see what the OT says about G-ds intervention in human affairs as He guided them towards the restoration of His people and His Earth.
All English Bible quotations are from the American Standard Version (1907). However the Language used has been updated for the 21st century reader. For the purposes of this book there has been extensive research and referral to both Hebrew and Koine Greek (Koine Greek having a central role in the OT’s recopying from the third century BC on) to ensure the accuracy of scripture used.
