First edition, first printing. Signed by the author. Original ribbon stab-binding with grey card covers, the front panel with an inlaid gilt lettered title label. Illustrated with 15 wood engravings, 4 coloured with linoprint. A fine copy, the binding firm, the covers very slightly rubbed, the contents clean and bright throughout and without previous owners' stamps or inscriptions. Housed in the lightly rubbed original slipcase with a paper title to the spine. Issued in a limited edition of 300 copies, this example is numbered 154 and is signed by Howard Phipps in black ink to the colophon. A beautifully produced book of the printmaker's depictions of interiors, following Phipps' 1985 publication with The Whittington Press, 'Interiors'.
