Intriguing Civil War espionage from the front lines to the frontier.
A gripping, first‑person memoir that follows a female spy as she moves through war-torn towns, disguises herself, and gathers critical intelligence for the Confederacy. This edition presents vivid scenes from the author’s travels, from bustling border towns to remote outposts, and the clever ruses she uses to slip behind enemy lines. Read about the risks, the wit, and the determination behind a daring, real-life career in espionage during a pivotal chapter in American history.
- Behind-the-scenes espionage methods used to gain information
- Travelogue-style portraits of towns, trains, rivers, and military outposts
- Disguises, reinventions, and quick thinking under pressure
- Reflections on duty, loyalty, and the costs of war
