"With many twists and turns throughout, and with action and magic aplenty, you will not find a better series." - Thomas A Guaraldi, Amazon reviewer
He felled trees to provide for his blind twin. To protect her, he must topple an empire.
Baard comes of age in a realm of chaos. Great cities lie in ruin, overrun by savage warriors. A Wrathlord’s curse ravages people’s eyesight.
Though he longs for adventures beyond his village, Baard must stay to fight encroaching monsters. His most solemn duty is guarding his sister Leya, who was blind even before the world began to dim.
But when the king’s guard seizes his sweetheart, Diara, to appease the Wrathlord, Baard is thrown into a wider war. A war he has little chance of winning.
His quest to save her forces him toward the Wrathlord’s shadowed empire. There he must seek a legendary relic, a sword that could defeat the Wrathlord – but whose immense power comes with a terrible price. A cost that will destroy Baard.
If he hopes to restore the land and save Diara, Baard must embrace an unexpected source of power: the awakening, untamed magic within the blind girl he has always deemed helpless.
