Hard Cover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. First American Edition. [Date from copyright page.] Notes; index; ix, 692 pages. The light gray boards are in excellent shape, with gilt lettering on spine as bright as new. The condition of this book is downgraded because of considerable annotations to several sections of the text, in pencil, by my philosopher-father, a noted Wittgenstein scholar. I hope they may be of interest to another scholar. The interior is otherwise bright and crisp. The unclipped dustjacket has just a few rubbed spots. [See image of actual book.] This volume consists of exegesis and philosophical essays. "The exegesis classifies, analyses and evaluates Wittgenstein's arguments. . . . The seventeen comprehensive essays cover all the major themes in [the 1937 draft] of the 'Investigations'." My father also had a clean copy of the Basil Blackwell first edition which is listed separately. As with every book from my father's collection, tipped in at the front is a small, attractive, acid-free bookplate.
