Paperback. Kids are like a shaken can of pop, ready to explode from the need to talk, talk, talk! They plead their case in this funny but enlightening 30-page children's picture book. Highlighting all the reasons they should be allowed to, as they say, talk. This light-hearted, charmingly illustrated book deals with the age-old issue of when to talk and when not to talk! The 30 pages travel through a day in the life of an energetic and talkative youngster. It is written on behalf of children who will enjoy seeing their relentless urge to talk reflected in its pages. Parents reading this book--to or with their child--put out the welcome mat for the child's explosion of information and detail. This book validates--to the child and the parent--kids' need to constantly express their interests, their questions, and their concerns. Despite peer and school pressure to clam up, kids need to share! This book provides a special sharing time for a parent to sit down with a child. This fun and witty book embraces and validates the child's urgent desire for self-expression. This is the first book of the Rau/Durand "I Wish I Could." children's series.
