I wrote Wisdom for a Lifetime to help people intelligently follow their biblical curiosity, and overcome their fears about the Bible's often-proclaimed infallible authority. The Bible is not to be feared, but wholeheartedly embraced. In my view, the Bible is not the absolute, final word of God, but an inspired anthology of writings written by an unknown number of authors over a period of more than a thousand years. Once we understand this literary complexity, and put forth some effort, we can derive spiritually relevant ideas from its passages - it becomes a treasured friend.
