From the award-winning author Sally Morrison, Window Gods invites us into the vivid, cornucopian mind of a twenty-first century artist. In the midst of a life where she is tugged in myriad directions by responsibilities to her ancient mother and late sister s daughter Isobel is rammed sideways. Her half sister has brought a lawsuit against her, her peers are criticising her for exposing a story of vandalism from years before, and her brother-in-law has been diagnosed with cancer.
Then her son disappears. In a modern-day Middlemarch, Isobel sets off to Afghanistan in search of her missing child, while bushfires spark on her home horizon.
Sally Morrison originally trained as a molecular biologist before beginning her writing career in the 1970s. in 2013 she travelled to Afghanistan as an observer with the Afghan Australian Development Organisation.
Her work includes the play Hag, short story collection I Am Boat, and novels Who s Taking You to the Dance?, Against Gravity, The Insatiable Desire of Injured Love and the 1995 Australian National Book Council s Banjo Award winner Mad Meg. Her last book was a biography of Clifton Pugh, After Fire.
